Congregational Care
Card Ministry—Cards are sent to our members and constituents age 65+ on their birthdays and to couples who have been married 50+ years. Jeannie Himmelberger coordinates this team. Contact Jeannie tizzie1@gmail.com if you would like to join this team in honoring our older congregants.
Casserole Ministry—This ministry, coordinated by Connie Ludwig, provides frozen casseroles stored in the church freezer for folks in the congregation or community who need a meal or two in times of stress. At the beginning of the month people bring homemade or bought casseroles with ingredient information attached to the designated area in the freezer. Casseroles are then handed out as needed during the month. If you would like to help, contact Connie at cmludwig12@gmail.com.
Communion Delivery—Folks who are homebound, hospitalized, or in nursing facilities are connected with the body of Christ at Asbury through the celebration of communion that is delivered to their residences. Team Leader, Candy Terry, (717-432-4348) would be happy to have you share in this vital ministry.
Library—Asbury’s Library has seen many positive changes and upgrades recently—including moving to the rear of the office complex. Beppy Baker and Carolyn Sterner have called a team of ministry partners who catalog, shelve, repair, collect, and buy resources. Large print and Christian Fiction books have been added to the shelves. There is also a section for Small Group books, videos, and dvds. Stop in, browse, and borrow some great resources. Contact Carolyn Mascls@aol.com if you would like to help in the Library or have suggestions or questions.
Meal Ministry—Helping people in times of need is the goal of our Meal Ministry. Connie Ludwig works with folks who have been hospitalized, have a new baby, have been injured, etc. for short-term help with meals. Her team will prepare and deliver meals to the family in need. Contact Connie cmludwig12@gmail.com if you need help or can help.
