At Asbury Church, we take joy in the opportunity to serve God, our congregation and community by bringing His word alive through the ministry of music. Through hymns, anthems and songs that come from years of Christian history and include current Christian praise and customary musical traditions, our music provides wings for praise, for prayer and for the enhancement of worship, all to the glory of God. In congregational singing and the music of our choirs, praise teams and instrumentalists, we welcome everyone through open hearts, open minds and open doors. There is a place for everyone who would like to musically praise God, serve in contributing to worship and grow in the fellowship of a choir family.  Opportunities for Music Ministry

Traditional Worship

• Chancel Choir – Thursday evening rehearsal – 7:00 – 8:15 – Sanctuary/Charter Room. A vocal choir for      adults and high school students. Chancel Choir sings at 11:00 during Sanctuary Worship most Sundays from September through May. Please contact John Maza at njohn.maza@gamil.com or 717 – 650 – 6406 for more information.
• Bell Choir – Thursday evening rehearsal – 6:00 – 7:00 – Choir Room. An English hand bell choir for adults and high school students. Bell Choir rings at 11:00 during Sanctuary Worship one time each month from September through May. Please contact Mary Ann Maza at maryann.maza@gmail.com or 717 – 650 – 6406 for more information.
• Sanctuary Singers – Sunday morning rehearsal – 9:00 after worship – Charter Room. A vocal choir for adults and high school students. Sanctuary Singers sing at 9:00 during Sanctuary Worship usually every other Sunday from September through May. • Summer Singers of Asbury – Sunday morning rehearsals – 9:00 and 11:00 after worship – Charter Room. A vocal choir for adults and high school students. Summer Singers sing during 9:00 and 11:00 services and offer an opportunity for choir members/congregation to sing together in worship during the summer months. Contemporary Praise and Worship

• Worship Band and Singers - Consisting of bass, drums, percussion, guitars (electric and acoustic), piano/keyboards, violin and singers of every skill level, Asbury’s Contemporary Worship Team holds weekly practices in M.E.Y. (Mary E. Young Auditorium) at 7PM on the first and second Tuesdays of every month, as well as the third and fourth Thursdays.   Team members are encouraged to attend just one practice each month to be considered for active participation on the Team.  “Live” ensemble-style singing is stressed and excellent sound support is available for both practices and Services.  Sunday Services are always reviewed each Sunday morning at 8:30AM in M.E.Y Auditorium (Contemporary Worship Service location).  Those interested in singing with or playing on the Worship Team may attend any practice to trial the Team and sing or play for Jesus Christ.  All skill levels are welcome!!!   
   

 Special Music Opportunities

• Children’s Music Ministry Christmas Eve and Easter Choirs – During the Christmas and Easter seasons, children K-Grade 5 have the opportunity to prepare to sing at the 7:00 pm Christmas Eve Service and the 9:00 am service on Easter.  Prior to the Christmas Eve Service and Easter, children meet weekly for a five-week rehearsal period. • Seasonal Choirs Advent/Christmas Choir – Thursday evening rehearsal – 7:00 – 8:15 – Sanctuary/Charter Room. A vocal choir for adults and high school students. The choir sings at 11:00 during Sanctuary Worship and for the annual Christmas Eve Concert and Service (11:00 p.m. December 24) and gives everyone an opportunity to join choir for this special season. • Lent/Palm Sunday/Easter Sunday Choir – Thursday evening rehearsal – 7:00 – 8:15 – Sanctuary/Charter Room. A vocal choir for adults and high school students. This choir sings at 11:00 during Sanctuary Worship and gives everyone an opportunity to join choir during the Lenten, Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday season. • Small Groups and Solos - Offering special talents to God’s glory through small group anthems or individual solos during worship or special services is always supported and encouraged. Small group members and soloists work with choir directors, our organist and worship leaders to prepare for worship.
