What We Believe
We believe that there is one living and true everlasting God of infinite power, wisdom, and goodness. God is the maker and defender of all things; both visible and invisible, in unity as one person with the Father, Son & Holy Spirit.
Genesis 1:1,26,27, 3:22 ~ Psalm 90:2 ~ Matthew 28:19 ~ 1 Peter 1:2, 2 ~ Corinthians 13:14
About Jesus Christ
We believe he is the Son who is the one with the Father and the Holy Spirit, was born from a virgin and became man, to join together God and man. He suffered and was crucified, dead and buried to be raised again after 3 days. He was without sin so that he could be a sacrifice for our human sin.
Matthew 1:22-23 ~ Isaiah 9:6 ~ John 1:1-5, 14:10-30 ~ Hebrews 4:14-15 ~ 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 ~ Romans 1:3-4 ~ Acts 1:9-11 ~ 1 Timothy 6:14-15 ~ Titus 2:13
About the Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is one with God and the Son, and lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides Christians with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth and guidance on what is right. He gives spiritual gifts to all who are saved.
2 Corinthians 3:17 ~ John 16:7-13, 14:16-17 ~ Acts 1:8 ~ 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16 ~ Ephesians 1:13 ~ Galatians 5:25 ~ Ephesians 5:18
About the Bible
We believe the scripture contains all things necessary for salvation so that anything that is not written in the Bible is unnecessary for salvation or a foundation for faith. We recognize the authority of the old and new testaments.
2 Timothy 3:16 ~ 2 Peter 1:20-21 ~ 2 Timothy 1:13 ~ Psalm 119:105,160, 12:6 ~ Proverbs 30:5
We believe people are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God's creation. Every person has a potential for tremendous good, but we are all affected by sin which leads us to an attitude of disobedience towards God. Sin separates people from God and causes many problems in life.
Genesis 1:27 ~ Psalm 8:3-6 ~ Isaiah 53:6a ~ Romans 3:23 ~ Isaiah 59:1,2
We believe salvation is God's free gift to us, if we choose to accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. We can only be saved by trusting in and turning to Jesus' sacrifice on the cross for our sins. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.
Romans 6:23 ~ Ephesians 2:8-9 ~ John 1:12, 14:6 ~ Titus 3:5 ~ Galatians 3:26 ~ Romans 5:1-7
We believe good works are pleasing and acceptable to God and spring from a true and lively faith insomuch that by them a lively faith may be evidently known. They can not put away our sins or bring us salvation.
About Good Works
About the Church
We believe the church is a congregation of faithful people in which the pure Word of God is preached, and then duly administers the Sacraments according to Christ's ordinance. The church plays many roles including those of worship, evangelism and edification.
